Gas Safety

London's Prime are Gas Safe registered.
Registration Number: 944708.

About

Gas Safe Register is the official list of gas engineers who are qualified to work safely and legally on gas appliances. By law, all gas engineers must be on the Gas Safe Register, but there are illegal gas fitters out there. Remember – always use a suitably qualified Gas Safe registered engineer for any gas work.

Badly fitted and poorly serviced appliances can cause gas leaks, fires, explosions, and carbon monoxide poisoning. Carbon monoxide is a highly poisonous gas. You can’t see it, taste it, or smell it, but it can kill quickly and without warning.

Protect yourself from the dangers by following these simple steps:

  • Only use a Gas Safe registered engineer to fit, fix or service your gas appliances.

  • Get your gas appliances regularly serviced and safety checked every year.

  • Fit an audible carbon monoxide alarm that is marked BS EN 50291.

  • Check for warning signs such as lazy yellow flames and black marks or stains around the appliance.

  • Know the six main symptoms of carbon monoxide poisoning – headaches, dizziness, nausea, breathlessness, collapse, and loss of consciousness.

Don't wait until it's too late - contact us to discuss your annual maintenance and servicing in your home and rentals.

Gas Safety for Landlords

Landlords are legally responsible for the safety of their tenants. Landlords should make sure regular maintenance and annual safety checks on gas appliances are carried out. By law, landlords must make sure:

  • that all appliances and flues that they provide for tenants use have an annual safety check

  • that maintenance and annual safety checks are carried out by a suitably qualified Gas Safe registered engineer

  • a gas safety record is provided to the tenant within 28 days of completing the check and to any new tenant before they move in

  • they keep a copy of the gas safety record for until a further two annual checks have taken place all gas equipment (including any appliance left by a previous tenant) is safe or otherwise removed before re-letting.
